The drive between Longview and El Paso is 11 hours according to Google Maps. The thing is that the truck requires gas, and there must be stops for the dog, food, stretching, etc... So I left El Paso on Friday morning at 4:30 and finally rolled into Longview at 7:30 as it was getting dark. The trip back on Monday was faster because I was not hauling anything. Needless to say, I'm still tired, but the house in Longview is clean. The first boxes are in place. In two weeks, I get the u-haul trailer and go back.
The move is bittersweet. I have lived in El Paso for the last fifteen years. But I need to get back to the shade of real trees and sit by water. The house is big enough to have the office and the craft room. Maybe I will finally be able to write. Needless to say I did not write much this weekend. I did edit the story of the white dragon and the archangel, Draoithe: Criminal Behavior. I know book 8 just released yesterday, but I have to stay ahead of the game. Right?
Having mentioned that, Draoithe: Elementals is available on Amazon now.
Pick up a copy and continue the story. The extra prequel, Draoithe: Synner and the Sainte is in the works to be released in November at the same time Book 9 Draoithe: Fire and a Gryphon comes out. Still working on covers and the little extras. I should be set up and rolling along by Thanksgiving!
Welcome to Ophelia Kee Speaks. This is a blog chronicling my independent author walk. The journey into the dream has been a life-changing experience as I try to become a full-time writer and leave the professional world behind me. In my blog each day, you will find information on the ‘behind the scenes’ for writing contemporary adult fantasy fiction and paranormal romance stories set in the dream. I will speak on topics detailing with my writing, publishing, promotion, and marketing as well as social media dealing with my books, book trailers, book launches, book art, music, audio, and video, as well as shameless self-promotion. I am not an expert and am not claiming to be one. I am simply one writer offering a glimpse of my struggle to become a successful independent author. Thank you for considering my words.
