The title sounds as if it could be a Stephen King novel. But no, it's not. It's born out of a small frustration of realizing that Droithe needs a wider audience. That means that more interest in the brand has to occur. That all sounds like advertising jargon (a form of publishing Greek). What it means is that I have to find a way to reach more readers. Sounds easy. The internet exists. But it is not so simple.
The stats as of this morning: One website and blog, two author pages, and six social media accounts. I am also a member of quite a few book promotion groups on Facebook. Still, there is never enough audience. So for Christmas, readers please consider giving your favorite authors a bit of help. Be kind and review their books, click the follow buttons or like buttons, and take a moment or two to subscribe to one or more of their social media accounts. Also please share with your friends, family, and coworkers. No author ever said, 'I have too many fans.'
Indie authors have to build all of these platforms in order to aid their readers. It takes a lot of time to do that, which of course means less time writing. But enough about that and back to Draoithe (which is what I suspect you came for). Dragons Come is currently on a Kindle Countdown special and is only $.99, but it will increase from 70% off to only 50% off soon. Grab your copy right away!
Welcome to Ophelia Kee Speaks. This is a blog chronicling my independent author walk. The journey into the dream has been a life-changing experience as I try to become a full-time writer and leave the professional world behind me. In my blog each day, you will find information on the ‘behind the scenes’ for writing contemporary adult fantasy fiction and paranormal romance stories set in the dream. I will speak on topics detailing with my writing, publishing, promotion, and marketing as well as social media dealing with my books, book trailers, book launches, book art, music, audio, and video, as well as shameless self-promotion. I am not an expert and am not claiming to be one. I am simply one writer offering a glimpse of my struggle to become a successful independent author. Thank you for considering my words.
