I did it! The prequel is out. The covers are all branded. I even figured out a whole lot about promotion and marketing. I might get this whole Indie author stuff. But I still prefer the writing.
Summer vacation is always too short. I have to head back to the nine to five grind tomorrow, and that means the whole writing/publishing stuff slows down. But I am still shooting to publish Draoithe: Elementals on September 30. We are going to try going Kindle all the way for the series. So cross your fingers cause I want to do a countdown.
Book 8 is in the last stages of editing. I think I can do it. But hey, I am only human so if we don't hit the date, don't be mad. I am doing this by myself. there is no hired crew that handles the blog, the promotions, or the social media. This is basically a one man show. My only help comes from my cover artist and my two beta readers. The rest is pretty much all me.
Having said that, if you buy or download a free copy, please read and write an honest review. If you hate it, be nice. If you love it, Thanks in advance for the positive feedback. If anyone has questions, please feel free to contact me.
On the saddest note: My prayers are with the families of the victims, the shooter and his family, and the entire city of El Paso, TX. The tragedy of the mass shooting at a mall shopping complex yesterday proves that mental health needs to be a serious priority in our country.
Welcome to Ophelia Kee Speaks. This is a blog chronicling my independent author walk. The journey into the dream has been a life-changing experience as I try to become a full-time writer and leave the professional world behind me. In my blog each day, you will find information on the ‘behind the scenes’ for writing contemporary adult fantasy fiction and paranormal romance stories set in the dream. I will speak on topics detailing with my writing, publishing, promotion, and marketing as well as social media dealing with my books, book trailers, book launches, book art, music, audio, and video, as well as shameless self-promotion. I am not an expert and am not claiming to be one. I am simply one writer offering a glimpse of my struggle to become a successful independent author. Thank you for considering my words.
