It's raining in Longview, Texas. I lived in the desert in El Paso for over fifteen years, so I love the rain. I also love to read while it rains, but alas, I must write so that others may read first. I actually wrote the scene from the image above while I was living in the desert just after a torrential downpour. (Secret confessions from the author, Flame is one of my favorite characters in the series. I love them all, but he is a bit special somehow. Don't tell the others!) The Dark Gift is still one of my favorite books from the series. It is technically a stand alone read, but if asked to pick the one book that is the must read from all of my published work, that one is it. Dragon shifter, vampire, fights, death, an evil villain, a broken hero. Yep that one is good.
Edits. Edits, and more edits. And Grammarly and a whole new way to format the books, possibly. I recently upgraded all of my books with the links and the look forward, but if I could make the reader's experience even better, I should do that. So I am looking into that. To all who purchased the books before now, I appreciate you. I promise. The stories will only be enhanced. I will not detract. It will cost you nothing extra.
And of course we must do shameless promotion. In honor of the rain and my personal favorite character, today I would like to bring your attention to The Dark Gift. It is available from Amazon as both a paperback and an ebook. It is also FREE with Kindle Unlimited. And I want to give you another taste of the book just in case dancing in the rain does not appeal to you.
Okay, enough of the shameless promotion. My bread machine is calling me to play with the dough. Yeah I know. Crazy but true, I make my own bread. Store bought bread just does not taste good unless it comes from a bakery. No money for that. So like everything in my Indie Author life, I best do it myself. I have time, not money. Take advantage of my FREE short read Still Waters. Don't forget to be kind and leave your reviews.
Welcome to Ophelia Kee Speaks. This is a blog chronicling my independent author walk. The journey into the dream has been a life-changing experience as I try to become a full-time writer and leave the professional world behind me. In my blog each day, you will find information on the ‘behind the scenes’ for writing contemporary adult fantasy fiction and paranormal romance stories set in the dream. I will speak on topics detailing with my writing, publishing, promotion, and marketing as well as social media dealing with my books, book trailers, book launches, book art, music, audio, and video, as well as shameless self-promotion. I am not an expert and am not claiming to be one. I am simply one writer offering a glimpse of my struggle to become a successful independent author. Thank you for considering my words.
