It's rainy here in Longview. I love the rain, thunder, and lightning. It means more time to read a good book. I know most of us have to work on Mondays and most of the rest of the time, but somehow when the work is done and you get that spare minute, rainy days just make wrapping up in a blanket to read that much better.
The weekend was awesome. My brother, his wife, and boys came down and spent time at my house. I love my little nephews, but now they are gone. The quiet is back. I will clean up, sigh that they left, and get my routine back. I will put the toys away, clean the television screen and mirrors that they graced with their little handprints, and vacuum the pine needles they tracked in missing the time when my own children were small and made the same messes that mattered because they were filled with curiosity and wonder. Perhaps some day that can be bottled and sold to adults so they can live with that raw curiosity and enthusiasm for every new thing all over again. Some days I know I still have at least a small bit of that when I open a new book and prepare to escape into a story. That anticipation of a new adventure is still mine.
If you love that feeling and enjoy a good paranormal romance read, I want to invite you into the dream and share Draoithe with you. If you stumbled upon my blog by accident, welcome. I write and want to share that with others. If you like to read, I have a gift for you. Please visit Ophelia Kee, subscribe and download a Free pdf copy of The Thread. It's a short read, but it will let you get a feel for my story style. This is the prologue to the epic fantasy and paranormal romance series Draoithe. It's the backstory if you will for Luke and Eli, the main characters in the full length novel, A Pack Forms. Should it pique your interest, there is a link at the end to the novel on Amazon. If you have Kindle Unlimited, please keep reading for FREE! And don't worry about spam e-mail. I really don't have time for that.
I am a truly independent author. I write prolifically. I am on track to publish one full length novel every month for the next six months at least possibly more. I have to write my blog and create all my promotions, advertise, and market my books as well as try to talk to the readers and answer any questions and hear feedback. So you might hear from me at Christmas via email if I can offer you something else for FREE. The best way to keep up with new releases and books is to follow my blog or on social media, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, or on Amazon or Goodreads. Follow, like, subscribe, get notified of new materials when you feel like it. I want to write. I love writing novels and short stories. The blog is even cool most of the time. Email news letters? Eh not so much. Amazon will email you if you follow me there. If you drop me a line via email, I will still chat the books and Draoithe with you that way. But I don't want to just fill up your inbox with newsletters you will delete. I love hearing from readers. If you are new to my blog, you will soon learn that reader ideas, comments, questions, and suggestions have led to more novels and new blog posts. So please inspire my vision of Draoithe.
Filth and Death should be available for Preorder soon. It's almost ready to go. It's massive at nearly 223,000 words, so you definitely want to pick it up at the debut price. Once it goes up, the drop date should be Feb. 24. I know, you wanted me to release it for Valentine's Day, but it's Filth and Death people. I mean how can we publish that just before everyone gets hearts filled with chocolate and flowers? Sure there are two romantic love stories intertwined in the book, but these are not the ordinary feel good vanilla stories for Cupid's Arrow. So maybe better wait till the 24th. But while you wait, here is a little taste.
The excerpt is not quite ready to go out as an add copy, but I could not resist sharing what I was working on. Y'all keep reading. I will keep writing and we will meet somewhere in the dream. Don't forget to be kind and leave a review. It is always appreciated far beyond just touching a few stars.
