The YouTube channel got a bit of a facelift yesterday. I am basically using the channel to promote Draoithe the series. Right now all of the Book trailers are housed on YouTube, but I want to try something a bit different with a Fireside read. Keep watching for it. It should start going up in scenes.
I want to start the Fireside Reads with The Thread. This short read prologue book is on Kindle for $2.99. You can even buy the paperback for $10. But see, I never actually intended to sell it. If you visit Ophelia Kee and subscribe, you can simply download a Free pdf copy. So since I wanted to give it away free, I decided that it would be the one read that I would use to try out some of my ideas.
It is currently pinned to the top of my Facebook page. It's also pinned to Pinterest. And I have tweeted it on Twitter. But what about the other social media platforms I use? Book trailers are not that long. The point is to create intrigue and hopefully lead people to want to know more about the books in the series. So they have a home on Pinterest and YouTube. Sadly, they don't meet the requirements for Instagram which had me kind of bummed. Both Instagram and YouTube needed a better face. So I have decided to attempt to create the Fireside readings of The Thread and give them away. I know that I can upload them to YouTube so they will for sure have a home there, but yesterday I found something that may allow me to put them on Instagram as well. So I am stoked that this might offer Draoithe to a wider audience.
So Fireside reads are going to be an actual thing! I hope you all will like it. But before I bow out and let you get back to your busy day, I feel that I must do a shameless plug for my latest novel, Dream Therapy. It is available for preorder now! It will be available to purchase as an Ebook and a paperback on Jan. 30, 2020. As always, it will be available on Kindle Unlimited as well. I hope you enjoy the twist with it.
Welcome to Ophelia Kee Speaks. This is a blog chronicling my independent author walk. The journey into the dream has been a life-changing experience as I try to become a full-time writer and leave the professional world behind me. In my blog each day, you will find information on the ‘behind the scenes’ for writing contemporary adult fantasy fiction and paranormal romance stories set in the dream. I will speak on topics detailing with my writing, publishing, promotion, and marketing as well as social media dealing with my books, book trailers, book launches, book art, music, audio, and video, as well as shameless self-promotion. I am not an expert and am not claiming to be one. I am simply one writer offering a glimpse of my struggle to become a successful independent author. Thank you for considering my words.
