So obviously I write and sell books, stories, paranormal romance, contemporary fiction fantasy pieces. I have been writing the story of Draoithe for awhile now. It was only going to be one book, then a handful. Short reads? Nope. I was sure. LOL. I knew nothing. There are 12 full length published novels and 4 short reads as well at this point. No end in sight. Thanks to my readers who keep inspiring new ideas and works. So long as you keep reading the stories. I plan to keep writing them.
It's nearly Valentine's Day. So considering that, I thought I should do another book give away. It's a short read. Smoke of the Fire part 1. As with all my short reads, they are tangential stories that have risen from the scenes that were cut from some of the novels. Most of my work is rather long for romance and far more suited to the fantasy genre in that respect. Even so, I try to keep them under 100k. Sometimes it just doesn't work. The peripheral character stories not pertinent to the main story get cut after I write. But they are good scenes. So I decided to rework the best ones into short reads and let my readers have the extra scenes as well. If the deleted scenes are good but not long enough to be part of a short read, I will try to give them away like I did with Synner and Sainte in the future. The weekend will likely be filled with dinner dates, flowers, and candy, but every bookworm will still want to read. I know, because I am one. So I wanted to help out all the kindred souls.
If you like the extra stuff and are curious about the tidbits of information, check out the stuff on From my Desk tab on the website. I put all kinds of crazy things that seem interesting but have no place else to go on there. If anyone has a request for something, besides spoilers, drop me a line. I may have more stuff that I don't realize readers would enjoy. As an Indie author, I do a lot of research, but more often than not it is you, the reader that drives a lot of what gets posted and done in Draoithe. Sure I am writing the story, but a lot is determined by readers. I've even written several full length novels in the series specifically to answer reader raised questions. Synner and Sainte is one such book.
Prodigal Son is coming out later this year and is another novel written specifically to address the comment, 'Tell me that Monty and Olivia come back'. Also Filth and Death is the answer to 'Is Frank Grimes a peripheral character?' No. No he is not. And in the interest of even more shameless self promotion, this novel is on Pre-order for the debut price of $3.99. 122,000+ words of awesome story. Definitely buy before the price goes up. I hope your Valentine's Day is great. I have to get back to work. Novels sadly do not edit themselves.
