So here it is! This is the cover for Draoithe: Dragon Masters which will go live March 23. What do y'all think? I love this one. All the covers have meaning that is revealed in the book, but just the look of this one is nice. It has been a while since I had dragons on the cover. Dragon Masters is available for preorder! So if you are looking forward to your next journey into the dream, grab it while it is 20% off as a preorder.
In other news, The storyboard preview for The Dark Gift is now live on YouTube! It should be available on Pinterest shortly. I have also uploaded it to Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr. If you are following me on Goodreads, you can find it there too. If you have not subscribed, liked and followed me on Amazon, Goodreads, or one or more of my social media sites, please look me up and add Ophelia Kee as one of your trusted entertainment provider, because a good read is a great escape!
Dread Allies is coming! My new short read miniseries is coming soon. I had originally thought not to release it until July. All of it came together very nicely. A lot of excited late nights, but I think it's good. Since they are short reads, the grammar proofread, editing, and book prep are far simpler (less time consuming that my full-length 100k words novels). Once I got my covers ready, I realized that the books were pretty much done. They simply needed to be reformatted for publishing. That takes a couple of hours, but I added that to my Sunday Amazon publishing task list.
I'm still learning how I want my business to operate, but for whatever reason, Sundays seem to work well for uploading and revising my Amazon publications. In my Author Walk, I have a bit of a love hate relationship with links. I know you like them. It makes it easy to click and go to the next book. I like them as a reader too! But as an independent author, I find myself constantly needing to update my ebooks with links. Yesterday, I corrected the link at the end of Dream Therapy for Filth and Death. Now, when you reach the end, you simply link to the next novel.
It took me a long time to learn how to embed links. Then when I became an Amazon Associate, I realized that the links that I was using were not the ones that I should be using. So it was back to the drawing board and a lot of hours correcting links, formatting the new manuscript version, and more uploads to Amazon. But the nice thing is that I have done it a lot, and it has gotten easier with a bit of practice and I have control over that and can alter and update my books as necessary. Having stated that, I would also like to request that if you see a glaring typographical error in one of my books that I have overlooked, please tell me. I strive to offer an excellent story, but we all know that mistakes distract from the experience. Unlike traditionally published authors, I have control over my stories. I can't fix things instantly, but I can usually make corrections within a few days. I like not having to arrange things with a middle man. It does mean that there is no one to blame but myself for any errors. That's okay. I am woman enough to own my humanity and be humbled by that fact. I am real, and I love feedback on my work. My stories are not for everyone. But for everyone who is following this journey, Thank you. You make it worth the walk.
If you have only recently stumbled over Draoithe, welcome to the dream. Thanks for joining my Independent Author Walk. You might be wondering what this is. I would like to give you something to help clear up the confusion. At ophelikee.com, there is a FREE copy of The Thread waiting for you. Simply put in your name and email to get your pdf copy of the prologue short read to the Draoithe series and discover for yourself if you like my story style. I don't always follow the crowd and the noise. I prefer to quietly choose my own path. The dream is wonderful, the story is good. Paranormal romance meets epic fantasy. Take it for a test drive. If you want more, simply follow the link to A Pack Forms. This is contemporary fiction fantasy, be warned it can get seriously steamy, but The Thread is pretty mellow as it is a bit of back story. I hope you like it and join the journey into the dream.
I have to get busy so Dread Allies can launch in a couple of weeks. As always, thank you for reading. When you read, please be kind and leave your reviews. Your favorite authors need them!
Welcome to Ophelia Kee Speaks. This is a blog chronicling my independent author walk. The journey into the dream has been a life-changing experience as I try to become a full-time writer and leave the professional world behind me. In my blog each day, you will find information on the ‘behind the scenes’ for writing contemporary adult fantasy fiction and paranormal romance stories set in the dream. I will speak on topics detailing with my writing, publishing, promotion, and marketing as well as social media dealing with my books, book trailers, book launches, book art, music, audio, and video, as well as shameless self-promotion. I am not an expert and am not claiming to be one. I am simply one writer offering a glimpse of my struggle to become a successful independent author. Thank you for considering my words.
