My Life in Words Ophelia Kee Speaks |
I finally got a copy of my first book as a 6x9 size real book. Holy crap it's big! I mean I know we like that line in a romance book, but this is about a book so try to get your mind out of the gutter for a minute and check out this book with me!
Now, that is no longer the case. With the e-books easily available, it isn't always so easy to know how big a book is. So we have to buy books or choose to read a story based on the cover and the blurb. (Which is what I should've been doing as a kid, but kids don't always measure things the way adults do. LOL)
As price always matters to adults (but not to a kid who had a one book limit), ebooks are usually cheaper with more bells and whistles added (such as images, links to inspiring music, and added lines of poetry or quotes. And don't forget the links to more books!) So my big thick, 8 hours of entertainment for the average reader, sized-book is only $3.99 as an e-book or FREE to read on Kindle Unlimited where as the list price for the 6x9 edition paperback is $17.64. That's still cheaper than a movie which only lasts about two hours. In case it matters to anyone who writes, I charge $.99 for each 10,000 words in a story. So A Pack Forms is broken into 8 parts and would be about $8 if purchased individually. But I cut the price in half if you wait and buy it all at once! (Do I sell the short read paperbacks? No, not really, but as it lends credibility, I still craft them. I suppose if you thought you had to have them, they sell for $6.50 each. But I'd wait for the complete volume and buy it at way less cost!) The book hangover will be just as good as the movie hangover, I swear it! Oh wait, I don't have a movie yet! Don't laugh, I can dream. I'm thinking anime style. What do y'all think? I just need to find an artist who works for free... Shameless Self Promotion!
Draoithe: No Negotiations is Now Publishing! Part 4 is now available. (Only $.99 each or read for FREE with Kindle Unlimited!) The conclusion will publish next weekend! For all of you who wait until it's all posted before you read, the complete volume will be ready on Dec. 12, 2020. That is the last complete volume that I will be able to publish this year! So for everyone who reads, Thank you sincerely. I am most Thankful for my Readers! The list for books publishing next year is available at OpheliaKee.com!
Excerpt from Kings Wilde
Kings Wilde is what I've been working on over the Thanksgiving Weekend! I managed to add 5800+ words to this miniseries and if I am honest, that is what I intend to work on the rest of the weekend. While the scene flows in my mind I need to write it. In case you were wondering, No. Sadly I do not participate in NaNoWriMo. If I could, I might do well. I have written over 100K in one week before. (90% of Dread Allies was done in 5 days in July a few years ago.) It's my day job that stops me. I had the week off for Thanksgiving, but that was the only week off this month. I'm not sure if I could squeeze in enough writing to craft a book around the day job so I 'll just have to squeeze it in around everything else the way I always do. Maybe someday!
I gotta run! The thrift store book cases are calling to me. I only have a few books! (Laugh, y'all know that ain't true.) If y'all read, please be kind and leave your reviews! Indie authors will love you for it. I am forever thankful for my readers and their kind reviews.
Happy Thanksgiving! Be Careful! Happy Reading, Ophelia Kee

I did the coolest Thing Friday evening! I did a live radio interview with the guys at Chat and Spin in the UK. It was a FREE publicity bit about Draoithe: Arctic Fox. I absolutely had an amazing time with it. I was asked to come back on the air in January and do another one! I posted it to my desk in case you want to check it out later! They are always looking for other creative individuals to interview and promote so if you need a bit of publicity, check them out. You can hear my interview at https://chatandspinradio.com/listen-again/ FRIDAY 20TH NOVEMBER FRIDAY'S EVENING & LATE SHOW (PART 3). I am the first interview on this part.
Free this Weekend Only and Never Again!
Draoithe: Arctic Fox
Duncan O'Sullivan was once a Druid king, but when he shifted as a fox, he knew his life had to change. Eventually, his need for a mate pushed him to leave his home and surrender his crown in search of the one woman who was crafted by the magic to be his everything. When he found her bathing in a loch in Scotland, he knew her immediately and set out to claim her. But her own king killed her after an accident without a thought or care and then simply gave her to him. Duncan had to find a way to rescue her from death and turn her as a fox. Turning her was only the beginning, winning her was the true adventure. Keeping her for himself when a vampire struck with bloodlust also craved her made him question everything he thought he understood.
Arctic Fox hit #1 in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Reads on Amazon!
This book is only FREE this weekend! So grab your copy while you can. This is the book I was interviewing about with Chat and Spin Radio last night! It's an awesome short read story that gives a bit of background for two of the main characters in the Draoithe saga. Grabbing it for Free this weekend is a great way to step into the dream and get your feet wet in the immortal kingdom of Draoithe. Excerpt from Arctic Fox
Every good Fox king is a bit of a voyeur by necessity, but Artie grabs Duncan's attention in a way he never expected.
Indie Author Walk
My stories are 18+ with HEA's guaranteed. I write adult fantasy paranormal romance in stand alone miniseries. I write long and publish short, but I collect the parts and publish them as stand alone novels for those who need it all at once. There are currently over twenty miniseries in the saga with several short read and novella stories as well. I publish one short read each week. And now that Amazon has given indie authors the ability to collect their stories into series, I am currently working on that. I have managed to get the first seven volumes and the prequel collected into series along with some of the short read stories. So bear with me while I continue the process and improve my presentation. All the stories are FREE to read on Kindle Unlimited. If you have a subscription check them out!
Currently Publishing!
Draoithe: No Negotiations is currently publishing. Part 3 is now live on Kindle and the paperback will be out soon! This miniseries has 5 parts only so I am just at the midway publishing it! This is a good quicker read at about five hours. Gaspard is back but he's hurt and the one who shot him is his lifemate, only she has been turned dragonsworn. Find out how Luke uses that craziness to his advantage in the 18th volume of the Draoithe saga.
No Negotiations Excerpt!
The life of the indie author is crazy business all the time. I hope you got your fix for behind the scenes of the dream. If you have any comment, suggestion, question, or remark, please don't hesitate to leave me a message. If you read, please be kind and leave your review. I gotta find a ham for Thanksgiving! Happy Holidays.
Be Careful! Happy reading, Ophelia Kee
My authorwalk has been a strange long journey. I have enjoyed every minute of it including the weird and frustrating aspects. Super excited to let you know that the miniseries Draoithe: The Ruiri Complete is available on Amazon. But you should by the saga in one book rather than Kindle's boxed set as it is less expensive that way!
I found Facebook shops recently and decided to build one. I mean it sounds good. More exposure for the books and one more chance for people to see them. It is not a perfect fit though. I tried posting my books, but I got a lot of random rejections from Facebook. Apparently, the robots think my shifter characters are me selling real animals. Sigh... I applied for the situation to be reviewed, but I don't hold out much hope. No matter. I shall persevere. Many of the books are located in the shop and do link directly to my Amazon Author page. When you click the link, it takes you to Amazon where you can purchase the paperback or the ebook from Kindle. So that was nice. Too bad all of my books aren't there. Once again there is simply no substitute for a website. (Get a FREE Book when you subscribe!) New Stories
Draoithe: No Negotiations has begun publishing. Part one is available and part 2 has been uploaded to Amazon. I am waiting on the review to be able to say it's live! While we wait for it, check out the blurb...
Gaspard Gautier is a gryphon on a mission to save other gryphons and add them to the dwindling numbers at the Gryphon castle. After a recent failed negotiation with his son, his personal life is in shambles yet he embarks on another mission with a crisis of conscience. The vile situation he finds upon locating two new gryphons is like a scene from a horror movie until the real nightmare begins. The woman he has searched for his entire life shows up only to think he caused the evil she witnesses. He tries to explain, but the gun in her hand leaves him no room for negotiation. He wakes up weak and disoriented in Draoithe’s infirmary barely still alive. Convalescence is going to take a few weeks he doesn’t have and the woman who shot him is now his dragonsworn servant. With his mission a failure and no way to negotiate with his commanders about the timeline he will fail to meet, he finds himself in the midst of a midlife crisis. She is everything, and he must find a way to claim her even though relationships with the dragonsworn are forbidden and punishable by death. FREE Stories!
FREE this weekend, Part 1 Draoithe: Smoke of the Fire. Grab a copy before it returns to normal price at Midnight Monday evening. Fuego was a dragon knight, but somewhere along the path of his life, he lost the ability to feel emotion. He lived in a world of color as if he himself were black and white. His only hope for correcting his situation is to find his Valkyrie. Scarlett was kidnapped and turned into a canine shifter, but she was already an accomplished fire mage. When she meets Fuego, it’s love at first sight. There’s only one small problem. Her fire wishes to combine with his when they get too close, and their love affair threatens to burn down the house. They need some serious help resolving the highly combustible nature of their attraction.
Sneaking an advance announcement: Draoithe: Arctic Fox will be FREE next weekend. (11/19-11/23) It will never be FREE again. This is a one time only deal! I mean it. This short read is worth getting. The story of what happens when Fox finds Artie is a good extra story. Get inside the mind and learn the secret insecurities of the Fox king. Happy Holidays a bit in advance. We need it this year!
I have to run. Desdemona Laveau, the voodoo priestess is demanding her fifteen minutes of fame. If you are wondering, she is a peripheral character from Draoithe: Synner and Sainte, but she has a pivotal role to play in rescuing Percival Dragan Ban from Talamh Liath. So I gotta write. If you read, please be kind and leave your review and check back in later to get more updates on the dream.

Authorwalk Journey Continues...
The day job still interferes with my authorwalk and my dreams of video books are still floating on the horizon like puffy clouds. But the publishing continues. I made promises not to quit until the story was told. I'm not giving up. Things might just take me a little bit longer than I want.
If you have only just now found the dream, welcome. Stop over at opheliakee.com and grab your free book. (The Thread is the prologue to the saga.) If you know others who enjoy adult paranormal romance, word of mouth is still the very best compliment. I did learn a bit more about ads and am looking into trying some more of that as I gain the ability. To all of you have been faithfully following my walk and supporting the dream, Thank You sincerely. Teasers from Stories not yet Finished!
The man was an idiot. That was the only reasonable explanation. Palladin was young for an archangel, but he wasn’t dumb. He’d found his light. He knew the truth that the older archangel was refusing to see.
Phanuel had walked away from the one woman who should’ve been soulbound for him. He’d been mad with grief. Sure that was obvious. But a thousand years? He had to be an idiot. Hiding away licking his wounds in the Lan Damhan just proved that the man was mentally unstable. Palladin plunged his sword into the body of the grotesque attacking him. He fought the surging tide of immortals whose magic had been damaged with his back to the other archangel whose skill with the whitest blade rivaled his own. They’d both ran toward the fight as archangels did. That proved that the man was still a man at least. “You’re a fool, Phan. Lyta is amazing, and you should hear her side of that story instead of shutting her out.” Palladin grunted as he used his foot to push the body of the grotesque off of his sword while ducking the hammer swung at him from a big hulking part-bear shifter. “Shut up, Adin. She sentenced my cousin to the void. He was my best friend. She never even considered the price for that. How could she be my soulbound? You just don’t understand.” The older angel was breathing hard as he too fought off a drooling eagle headed monster that was intent on attacking Gwen’s unfinished home. One after another stepped up attempting to end them. Outtake scene from Draoithe: Strange Visions by Ophelia Kee. This story is still in the writing stage with only about 30,000 words. It's coming likely in late 2021.
I gotta run. The last story is still messing with my writing on other stories. Enjoy the weekend! As always if you read, please be kind and leave your reviews. Indie Authors will truly appreciate you if you do!
