Draoithe: Past in the Present Volume 15
Wade has a lot weighing on him. The past has been driving his decisions and his life for almost a thousand years, he has done some awful magic in the name of justice, made some crazy friends, and even owes allegiance to a couple of demon lords, but he never counted on Sasha.

She was not in the plan. She wasn’t supposed to exist. She should not want a man as broken and twisted as Wade, but she was a bit broken and twisted too. Arguing against the tiny woman seemed pointless when Wade was facing his own demise and coming to grips with the fact that he may have made a huge miscalculation with the magic.
With everything stacked against him, he was sure of only two things. He had a mission to complete and his own death to meet. Sasha thinks he should belong to her and will stop at nothing to claim the warg for herself. Even if that means she has to defy convention, learn the magic, and compete with two demon lords, Wade should belong to her.
All 12 parts are now available in one complete volume from Amazon for only $5.99 or Read for FREE with Kindle Unlimited!

I got it done! The complete volume is ready for you! So to celebrate, I posted the Storyboard preview everywhere. Like Frank's hot sauce, I put that sh*t on eveything. It is posted on YouTube and Facebook, but I know more people see my videos on Pinterest. So it's there too. I linked it to Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram.

Behind the scenes

For all who follow my author walk, I am being 100% candid here. I am not so sure about how much good it does to have so much social media. Facebook is what I know the best and it still is what I see the most traffic from. So I make sure I post there first and often, but I try to use the others as well. If you use any social media, seek me out. I would love to connect with you and hear what you think about the storyboard tiles, the videos, etc...

I gotta run. Project Publish is still rolling along! If you have been reading and then got confused, sorry. I am publishing miniseries titles in reverse in order to get the book links on the first volumes. Okay, running away now. If you read, please don't forget to be kind and leave your reviews.

Happy reading,

Flame is scarred from a past filled with lies, deceptions, and heartbreak. He is not guilty of what his brothers believe, but Blaze is the only one who knows the truth. He was betrayed by the king he had served. The girls he gave the dark gift to had been innocent. When he finds his Valkyrie, beaten, raped, broken, and fading after having been forced to accept the dark gift without her consent, Flame vows that he will do anything to save her. The light seems gone from both her and the world she finds herself in. Little does Flame know that for her to have the light again, he will sacrifice his honor, his integrity, and his life after breaking every law he can manage to break and even demand absolution for crimes he never committed. Many men say they will die for the love of their life. Flame somehow needs to do it four damn times, find a way to fix not only her broken magic, but fix her broken spirit as well, and then figure out how to live for her! All men wish to love a vampire, but Flame burns in his soul for one who holds the fire and has been granted the dark gift of an immortal vampire princess.
Draoithe: The Dark Gift the short read miniseries is not available in its entirety from Amazon and FREE to read with Kindle Unlimited! Part 1 is only $.99. Grab your copy and step into the dream today.

Behind the Scenes

Picture
When I wrote The Dark Gift in 2017, the story poured out onto the page. It was Nightshade's story. A lot of it gets told from Flame's perspective, but it is essentially her story. His story is larger and if you love his character, keep reading the saga because more of his past will be revealed later.  While the this miniseries is really all about Nightshade, Flame makes this one great. Alpha males go after what they truly desire hard. They refuse to give up, give in, or give over. The win is all there is and the drive to achieve it is in their souls. It is that kind of man that a broken vampire needs. Only, Flame has to do all of that as a broken man. The HEA in this one is really good.
Most of the stories in the Draoithe series are adult fantasy. They have elements of paranormal romance and are told from the perspective of different characters, but are not pure romances. A Pack Forms is more of the true traditional paranormal romance with the fantasy elements as is The Dark Gift.
If you have been following my authorwalk, then it may have become apparent a ways back that I have no formal training to write. I do have college degrees, but they are not in literature, creative writing, or English. I knew nothing of the writing, publishing, or book marketing industries when I began writing in 2016. (I still might not know very much, Lol.) I just needed a creative outlet as the career I once loved became progressively more prescripted.
I do not write to the trends nor am I trying to be politically correct. I don't even consider those things as I am writing. I am sure that my stories follow some serious fantasy tropes, but I don't worry about that either. I wish only to tell a good story. The scenes that I see in my mind are what I write. I try to describe them as accurately as I can so that hopefully others will see a similar scene on the 'mental movie' as the one that I saw.
I don't even write the story in order. I write the scenes as I 'view' them, then later I put them into the order that it feels as if they should be told in. That is why the calendars below are so overloaded. I am constantly needing to review what others are doing and ensure that the story does not have a character in two places at the same time. Why so complicated? I dunno.
Picture

On the Social Media Front

I have been running an interesting story campaign on Facebook and Instagram recently. I am not sure how effective it is at helping me sell the books, but it has been fun. The storyboard tiles that I had to craft in order to make the story board preview videos that I post on YouTube (that stranger than fiction get more views on Pinterest) gave me the idea. I have been posting the tiles, excerpts, and imagery from the different miniseries to my Facebook and Instagram stories hoping for that same wider exposure that I get on Pinterest. I think the real deal has to be a scripted plan. I am simply playing with it, but I am theorizing that if I got serious and crafted the right tiles and images and posted regularly, say every two hours, I would reach more people and maybe sell a few more books. I might try it with Twitter a couple of days and see how it goes then move that strategy to Instagram's feed. But seriously, I have crafted a lot of quote tiles and excerpt graphics for all of my stories. Even if they do nothing but help gain exposure for the stories, they would be worth it. I just need them to be more widely available. Still, adding booklinks in book and reader groups on Facebook has proven to be the very best unpaid for promotion to date. Facebook ads are still the best paid for advertising that I have done to date as well.
Picture
I have to run ad get busy publishing. I hope you enjoy The Dark Gift. It is still one of my favorite stories in the Draoithe saga. Part 8 in the miniseries will have you on the edge of the seat. If you read, please remember to be kind and leave your reviews. There is few better ways to tell an author that you want them to keep writing than an honest short review. Plus, it helps other readers decide if they want to read a book by a new author. None of us want to take a huge risk with our hard earned money.

I got all eleven parts of the volume 6 miniseries published! Project Publish is still going strong. If you have not read this one, check it out. Light and Dark Magic involves a couple of dragons, a Nephilim and a sorceress. Each part is only $.99 or you can purchase the entire volume for only $5.49. As always, you can read it for FREE with Kindle Unlimited!

Light and Dark Magic

While the dragon Smoke struggled with the fact that his Nephilim immediately chose him for herself then set him up to be murdered, the former dungeon master bled for his Valkyrie and suffered from serious feelings of inadequacy to both care for and convince his lovely jeweler that she should take a chance on him.
When Blaze gets in too deep and can’t figure out what to do next after getting mixed up with his jeweler playing in a creek, he gets help from the last man he thought would help him, the king he serves. After practicing staves with the fastest vampire in the dream, Blaze is determined to finish his mission to win his mate.
Winning at a staves duel solidifies more than his position with his mate. Things are supposed to be different at Draoithe for dragons. Blaze needs to forge the path toward the freedom that Luke needs his pack members to have. Will the magic work on a man as skeptical as a former inquisitor?

Choosing to publish my work as short reads has been very labor intensive, but well worth all the effort. The size of your bookshelf matters. It was nearly impossible to significantly increase the size of that bookshelf publishing the full volumes as novels. It has been much easier to handle the short reads. So I will continue to follow that path. I truly hope that I have not alienated anyone with the short reads. I just want to be able to publish faster and get the back list out there. Playing catch up with the previously published work has not been too hard. Some days I have been able to publish 6 titles at a time.

Yep! You read the title correctly. The dream has over 170 titles uploaded to Amazon so far. I have approximately that many more ready to go! The Library just went through the last rewrite and will be ten parts. I am waiting on covers before I start uploading it. I expect to roll past the 500 titles mark before all the stories set in the dream are done. That is crazy and very exciting! I hope y'all will come share it with me. All of the short read titles are only $.99. The full volume miniseries are priced at half the cost of purchasing each part individually. If you have Kindle Unlimited, read for FREE! Forgive me if I went a little crazy there when I saw how many stories I have already published. Sometimes you just have to look back and take stock of what you have accomplished before you look forward and see the finish line in the distance.

Video and Technical Issues

I have been trying to get the book trailer for Past in the Present posted to YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook this past week. I thought it would be easy. I have done this many times before. But no. No. NO. It simply is not happening. The original mp4 has gotten stuck in the system somewhere. I have to resend it to myself and try it from another drive. Google has been working to ensure that digital materials are not being pirated. So since I use several different gmail addresses personally. It was inevitable that something from the business was going to get stuck in my personal gmail. GRRR! It has become a little bit frustrating. As soon as I get it though, I will be putting it up everywhere. The complete miniseries has been published and is available to read with Kindle Unlimited!

Sneak Peek at the Official Book Blurb for The Library

Professor Raddick Bain is a bit more than an absentminded professor. He is a red dragon cockatrice in disguise. When the magic calls him to serve Draoithe, he drops everything to go east for a chance to be his dragon once more.
Archadian Wight, the Druid born emperor basilisk shifter has had it with his prearranged life at the Fortress and runs away in search of his true lifemate. When Scorch, the dragon, meets his king, Ark is drunk and itching for the fight.
A trip to jail and a ride from the dragon’s criminal lawyer sees Scorch finally arrive at his destination where he finds himself in charge of classes on magic at Soothsayer University. His first student is the Demon Lady, Gwen Galbraith. The resulting convoluted tale also involves the Demon Lord of Lust, two very damaged library assistants, and one now infamous Library. Magic is still calling to Magic. The saga continues!

Imagine being fifteen and gifted with a powerful magic that could protect all you love, only you have no idea you have it and no knowledge of how to use it. Next imagine that you only learn about it after everyone you ever loved has died in a bloody war. The magic you have could bring them all back. You could get revenge. You might have to do some nasty work, but you could have your family returned to you. Would you do it? Wade did. Find out what happened and how it all went down in Draoithe: Past in the Present!

I have work to do. It is Sunday! The laundry is demanding my attention. As always if you read, please be kind and leave your review. Indie authors will love you more.

Past in the Present is here! It is going to be good. Get your Kindle charged up. This is the volume you have been waiting for. This is the long awaited answer to, "Why can't the grey dragons remember their first life?"  The Warg King is conflicted about the past and far more than meets the eye. Necromancy and the Netherworld comes to Draoithe! As always this miniseries is FREE with Kindle Unlimted! And each of the 12 titles is only $.99. The Complete Volume is coming soon at the reduced price, but it takes a bit longer to get that one done. If you can't wait, it has all been published in 12 parts.

Behind the Scenes

Picture
I am working hard to get the book trailer uploaded everywhere. Look for it sometime tomorrow! It will likely go up on YouTube first then pop up onPinterest and Facebook.  The Storyboard Preview video of course will go up as soon as I get the Complete Volume uploaded to Amazon.  I am still editing the Library so for everyone who just can't wait for the next volume, bear with me. It might be a couple of weeks. I also still need a real job. Funds are getting too low to stay in the dream full time. But damn if it has not been one helluva fun authorwalk.

The Author behind the Walk

As many of you know I am an avid urban homesteader. I like to grow my own veggies and cook from scratch. I make my own ice cream from the nut milk I blend myself. Today, I am in Florida. It is beautiful here. I found out that avocados grow here, so let the planting begin. I am running away to go play in the dirt, literally. before I run out of time and have to get back to my writing. Y'all be careful and enjoy Past in The Present when you get a minute. Let me know what you think when you get finished. As always please be kind and leave your review when you read.

A Negative Review?

So I got a single star review today on Goodreads for Dread Allies: Shadow King Part 1. At first I was sad. Then I read it.
The reviewer only read the first page and a half of the story! I am not sure that should even be considered a review. It felt far more like they simply were not feeling the book and put it back on the shelf. I personally do not review books that I have not actually read, but a review is a review. I get so few of them that in a messed up way I was excited to get even a bad one. LOL.
The reviewer failed to realize that the Dread Allies series is a spinoff from Draoithe and so they were missing the back story. I can't fix the fact that they ignored the note to the reader at the very beginning disclaiming that. (The reviewer noted in the review that they ignored it. I am not making this up!)

New Titles by Ophelia Kee Links Page!

The reviewer did have one thing to say that made me truly think about my ebook structure. He did not like my chart with my book links, so maybe that was not one of my better ideas. That was actually helpful, so I am taking that advice to heart. Most of the time in traditionally published books, you will find only a simple list of the books in a saga in the order that they are meant to be read. I experimented with a table. Apparently that did not fly. So here is the new list that will be published in my books soon.
Titles by Ophelia Kee
Complete Volume Short Read Miniseries
Draoithe: Tantalu *Prequel
Draoithe: A Pack Forms Volume 1

Draoithe: Smoke of the Fire  *Short Read Trilogy
Eyrie Iolair: Risky Rewards *Short Read Trilogy

Wow! On the blog this feels like an incredibly long list. It is not so overwhelming in a 6x9 book format. LOL. I will be using this new format for all future work and then go back and correct the look of previously published titles. There is still a huge backlist of stories to be published. I wonder if I don't need an assistant. Nah. They would expect a paycheck and writing is for sure a labor of love.

This Weekend until Midnight on Monday evening you can download a copy of Synner and Sainte Part 1 for FREE! It is always FREE with Kindle Unlimited! But not all of us have that option, so I am still trying to find ways to make it easier to step into the dream. Even if it is only one title at a time.  Thank you for reading my stories. I am humbled that so many like them. You are awesome!

I got the storyboard tiles from Dread Allies finally posted to Pinterest. It took me long enough, didn't it? As you can see I began publishing it back in March. Sometimes if I don't have it on a calendar in front of me things slip by me. The entire short read miniseries is now fully published. (Mostly I prefer writing to marketing, but that is life. Kindly forgive me that.) Check them out on my Ecxerpts board. If you have a Pinterest account and follow, I follow back. I would love to connect with you all there.

I am editing The Library, so I have to run away. Before I leave, let me remind you to be kind and please leave your reviews when you read. Indie authors that you enjoy could seriously use them. To all of you who have been kind enough to write reviews of my stories, Thank You immeasurably.

A shout out to Tori Price who let me in on a possible Kindle glitch with Synner and Sainte Part 1. Thank you so much. Reaching out matters. Draoithe: Synner and Sainte Part 1 is FREE this weekend so if you have been considering stepping into the dream here is your chance. Warning, all of my stories are adult fantasy/pnr. They are intended for adult readers. Synner and Sainte is the Forbye volume explaining some of the back story about how the dream has become unbalanced while also introducing readers to the devils of Blar Elding and the harem Markus Sainte builds with Logan Synner and Riggs Sainte. Devils do walk in the Leaindeail, but that's because they were born here.
There are a couple of extra deleted scenes from the cutting room floor at the end of the miniseries. You can find out just how slimy Frank Grimes really is and learn how Luke actually met Fox and Artie as well as get a bit of back story on Ryker. As always, all books are FREE to read with Kindle Unlimited!

I also want to shout out to Deann Spangler for reaching out to ask questions about the dream. The stories set in the dream are more saga than series. The more you read, the more you discover. Oftentimes the timelines for one story may extend further, introduce other characters, and include information about events that has not yet been explained fully. The series order is on my site at OpheliaKee.com.
I apologize that I have as of yet been unable to publish it all. I promise I am trying. But it does take a bit of time to get it all ready and uploaded to Amazon. I promise there are more stories. Many are already complete. They are simply waiting on me to get them published. Others are in various stages of being written, but I am confident that there is an end. I know what happens to Peter Elliot. Sorry, you gotta wait for that though. That story is one of the ones that is not finished ;).

Lieutenant Ryker Talbert came back to the States after his last mission a bit messed up. His former Colonel had retired, and he was lost and followed suit. Wandering around aimlessly though just got him involved in some stuff he could not handle alone. It had him rethinking that last mission and feeling a need to see his former Colonel again. He never made the meeting he set up with Luke. Getting down from his jeep after a long drive to take a leak in the woods saw him nearly mauled to death by a wild panther, knowing his end had arrived, and finally accepting the dark gift from a vampire because he could not let things end the way they were heading.Finding his former Colonel waiting for him when he was with himself again after the delirium and several days of sleeping left him with a lot of questions. The one he needed to answer as desperately as he needed to understand what it meant to be a vampire was what happened to the panther? That was soon followed by dragons? Really? Okay. Just one more thing, how the hell were they going to fix Artie before losing her killed Fox?
All 9 parts of the Dragons Come short read mini series are now available to read on Amazon! I hope you enjoy it! The price on the full volume has been reduced from the old novel price, but as always it is still FREE with Kindle Unlimited!

Picture
Griz was lost. Waking up in a soft bed to find everything sleeping next to him after the nightmare he had just endure left him lost. When she screamed, bringing a lot of men into the room to look at her, it messed with the bear’s possessive nature over his mate. Worse there was something wrong with his magic that along with the fact that he felt as hungry as a bear needing to hibernate made him grouchy and short-tempered. Melody had gotten help, and the men at Draoithe had rescued him. When a dragon tried to reach for her, murder was already on his mind. When the shifters chastised the dragon instead of him for killing He finally realized he might have landed in a good place. That was about the same time he realized he needed to claim his mate and apologize to the dragon he had murdered on the lawn. Griz needed reckoning for what happened. Luke wanted him as the last member of the Ruiri. If Griz got his reckoning, the pack would finally have enough magic to begin coalescing the mor tuath. Like the pristine land that Draoithe had chosen to build the pack, it needed to grow to be as numerous as the trees and as seemingly sheltered as the forest was to the wild world.
All 9 parts of the The Ruiri Complete short read mini series are now available to read on Amazon! I hope you enjoy it! The price on the full volume has been reduced from the old novel price, but as always it is still FREE with Kindle Unlimited!

I spent most of my day today publishing Past in the Present Part 7. Followed by building the storyboard tiles that I use to craft the storyboard preview videos for the saga volumes. I am currently working on Draoithe: The Library. It will be volume 16 in the Draoithe series. I love to write, and I love to read, but I also love to create. Building the book trailers and storyboard preview videos is just fun. If you have not checked them out, subscribe to my YouTube channel and watch a few. I use a program called Corel to craft the videos. The music was written on a free music writing app. So if you were thinking to go Indie all the way. It is possible with very little money invested beyond a good computer and a few programs.
About the Audio: I have not given up, but I am in Florida and away from my sound studio at the moment. If I can I will try a new tactic for that soon. But bear with me. Audio is a helluva lot harder than it sounds. Pun intended. LOL.

Social Media

Still in Twitter Jail. Twitter still makes no sense to me. Oh well, I post there and try to interact anyway! Facebook and the dream group is still where you can find me most of the time. If you don't catch me there, I am on Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube as well. I do really love to here from you, so visit, ask, comment, suggest, just make an observation. It's all good. I will meet you in the dream.
The gym is open. I gotta run.

Publishing in Reverse?

As many of you know, I have been on my author walk for a few years now. I self published for the first time May 30, 2018 and have never looked back. I live indie publishing. It gives me a great amount of control over when and how to publish my stories. That is awesome. Over the last two years, I have seriously studied publishing and marketing. I have learned a lot. I have also realized that I have a whole lot more I still do not understand. That's okay. It is part of the journey. A while back I realized that I needed to do something radically different if I was going to have a real hope of competing with other authors and get my stories in front of readers. I made the decision to publish short read miniseries. I am very pleased with the results.
Picture
While beginning to publish the short reads, I learned some more about self publishing. For me, pre-orders don't work well. I have a very large back list of written stories that I want to publish. In order to publish them quickly, I need to stop wasting time uploading then revisiting for changes to include links to the next title in the book before it in the series after the second one comes out. So I began reverse publishing. Once a title is live, I copy the embed link into the title that comes before it and publish the entire miniseries in reverse one title at a time. As I am publishing several miniseries at the same time while waiting on Amazon, this could potentially get confusing. So I wanted to explain so no one gets upset. Also, to all who read my stories whether in order or not, thank you!

I have begun publishing Past in the Present. I will finally be answering where the dragons came from and who they really are at least partly. I hope you will enjoy Vadi Kavanaugh's story. Wade Leviathai is an awesome Warg King. As a youth he is an excellent shot with a bow. As a 929 year old warg, he still hits the mark. He is a little warped and has some interesting hangups after spending 300 years being trained by dominatrix demoness in Asmodeus's harem, but that pales in comparison to the necromancy he perpetrated against his friends in his quest for vengeance against his cousin and his older brother. This miniseries gets seriously twisted.  There are twelve parts. Each one is only $.99. It is currently being published in reverse. I will be publishing a complete volume as soon as I finish publishing all 12 parts.  Publishing completion is projected for the end of next week. I hope you enjoy volume 15 in theDraoithe saga as much as you have enjoyed all the rest.

Social Media Updates

I am in and out of Twitter jail still. Why? Who knows. But due to that situation, I have not been as active there lately. I have been focusing on Facebook and Instagram. So if you have been looking for me, you will likely find me there. I am still on Pinterest and Tumblr as well, but more importantly, I am still uploading video to YouTube. If you have not subscribed yet, head over and watch a few book trailers or listen to a read.

 Project Publish Update!

Picture
I may never finish with this project. LOL. I love publishing stories in the dream. The more I put on Amazon, the more I realize I still need to publish. I currently have around 120 titles published and I am still going strong. Draoithe: Dragons Come short read miniseries should finish publishing within the next three days! Dragons ramp up the steam and the action! Enjoy.

I have a lot of work to do. I need to get more published so I am back at it hard while it rains in Florida! Allow me to remind you to be kind and please leave your reviews when you read.

Happy Reading,
