Cover reveal for the fifteenth volume in the Draoithe Saga!

Wade has a lot weighing on him. The past has been driving his decisions and his life for almost a thousand years, he has done some awful magic in the name of justice, made some crazy friends, and even owes allegiance to a couple of demon lords, but he never counted on Sasha. She was not in the plan. She wasn’t supposed to exist. She should not want a man as broken and twisted as Wade, but she was a bit broken and twisted too. Arguing against the tiny woman seemed pointless when Wade was facing his own demise and coming to grips with the fact that he may have made a huge miscalculation with the magic. With everything stacked against him, he was sure of only two things. He had a mission to complete and his own death to meet. Sasha thinks he should belong to her and will stop at nothing to claim the warg for herself. Even if that means she has to defy convention, learn the magic, and compete with two demon lords, Wade should belong to her.
This volume is dedicated to my friends whom I hope to see again on the other side some day when my journey in the dream ends.

I want to apologize for my lateness in getting Past in the Present published. I fully intended to have it published by now, but sadly I lost two good friends last week. Both passed away suddenly, so I hope that you will be able to understand how that shock put me behind the schedule I had been trying to keep. Death is a part of life even if we wish it was not. I hope you like the cover for the latest volume. I have begun publishing the 12 part short read miniseries. As soon as all parts are published I will publish the complete volume as well. Give me a bit, but I will get it put on Amazon. If you have been waiting, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you have only recently stumbled into the dream, welcome to my author walk. I could use some company on the journey. Thanks for joining me.

Confession of a grief stricken writer: May God keep Mildred Joiner and Hector Olivas and comfort the ones they have left behind. When I cry, I work. Maybe that is a strange way to grieve, but it is the way that I handle loss. So out of the sadness, I have finished three more short read miniseries in the Draoithe series saga, and written or finished a few more short stories. So even if I am behind in my attempts to publish everything, my shortcomings may have produced something good. I am forever humbled that you read my stories and take the journey with me. Thank you!

If you read, please remember to be kind and leave your review. It matters.
Be Careful!
Happy reading,

Publishing Magic

Project Publish is rolling along nicely. A Pack Forms and The Council have both been published as short read miniseries and as complete volumes. The series is doing well and the covers have gotten a facelift. Tantalu and Synner and Sainte are also available as both the short read miniseries and their complete volumes as well. Magic Calls to Magic is currently in the process of being published as I write this blog post.
I am excited that I started on this path to publishing my stories as short reads. It seems to have been a positive move. It has allowed my stories to reach a broader audience than I reached with only the longer works, and it has proven to be better at shortening the time it takes for me to get more of my stories completed.
This way I also no longer worry about how long the story is. I just worry about writing a good story. The editing process is easier. I still write long, but when it comes to publishing, I need for the story to begin short and be told in parts.

Social Media

Picture
The Storyboard preview for War Dogs is now live! Check it out on YouTube. The dream is taking shape. It is really awesome to see the evidence of hard work begin to pay off. The YouTube channel is starting to look better. For those of you who don't know, I have moved to Florida. (No, I did not give up my home in the forest of East Texas, but the beach is nice at night!) I need a job making enough to pay the bills and staying in Longview was not the answer.  So you might start to see more of Florida imagery in the social media.
On a different social media topic, I am still in Twitter jail for whatever reason. (No, not offensive posts.) I can't follow people back there for some weird reason. But I am still refusing to unfollow people. So whatever they want to do. If you prefer to connect there, I have to admit to being less visible there as of late because of that.
The dream group on Facebook has taken off. I invite all who use Facebook to join for updates and added extras. I am still posting occasionally to Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram, but publishing and job hunting now that I have settled into my new residence in Florida have taken a huge chunk of my time. If you follow me there, I promise I will get back to you. Just know that it could take longer than it once did.

Author Confession

Picture
So I started writing a story that I thought was a book. It turned into a series of books which then turned into a saga of multiple series and short reads. I have not actually finished the story yet. (I do know how it ends now though!)
I was supposed to be working on finishing it, but it seems to only get larger and become more expansive.

Instead of writing more of the Draoithe saga, I found myself adding to the Electric Shadows short read miniseries volume that was already at 100k words and includes characters first introduced in the ninth volume. It should be the 18th complete volume. I am shaking my head. The story was done. Done! Nope. Apparently not! Sigh...
It will be better now than it was, but that means it will take longer to get to work on the next volume, Dragon Wedding. Oh well, it is the price I pay to be a pantser style writer. Gaspard is back in this one. You may remember him from Fire and a Gryphon. This volume also includes the valravne saved from the barn and the Black Shadow Castle.

A Taste of Electric Shadows

He was handsome and smart. Gaspard had been a Commander. He had rank and a position he had worked for and earned. He had valued it. She had ruined it, but he held her and refused her the guilt she should rightly feel.
He looked into her eyes for a long moment before his lips crashed into hers. Gaspard was kissing her. He was masterful and commanding. He held her close and kissed her long and deep as if he had been waiting to kiss her for years and had only recently found his courage.
Her whole body tingled in pleasure, and she never wanted the kiss to end. His lips pressing hers, his chest compressing her breasts, and the hard shaft between his legs pressed firmly next to her body thrilled her. He made her feel like a woman. She melted against him and submitted to the kiss entirely. When he broke the kiss, he closed his eyes with his forehead resting on hers.
She licked her lips. The taste of the coffee he preferred was on her lips. The scent of warm grass in the sun swirled around her stealing her focus and placing Gaspard at the center of her whole world in a way no man had ever been before. She had no idea what to do or what to say. What had felt so wonderful suddenly made her nervous. She had wanted the kiss, wanted whatever might follow it too, but should she want it?
Kiri stumbled away from him confused. She blinked. He looked hurt. She did not want that. No one ever made her feel the way he made her feel. She didn't know what to do with it.
Gotta run. Dinner must be made! If you read, please be kind and leave your review!
Be Careful!
Happy reading,

Volume Two of the Eyrie Iolair saga is now available from Amazon and FREE with Kindle Unlimited!
The light dragons of the Eyrie have waited for centuries for the arrival of the Tiarna na Speartha, but when they finally swear fealty to the Lord of the Skies, part of the prophecy about dragons finding their life mates seems to begin coming true. Light dragons might be resurrected powerful shifter knights, but unlike most dragons, they need to claim a slave to train to become their Valkyries. Slavery except for criminals has never been legal in the Eyrie presenting a bit of an issue. Young untried kings, a host of people needing safe haven, and a nagual thunderbird who declares that the law stops at the bedroom door flips the light dragon worldview on end. Even some of the Tiarna get caught up in the whirlwind of magic that raising the Lord of Skies as the overlord of Eyrie Iolair brings. Find out how the Eyrie comes back from the brink of extinction in the Sky Dreams tales.

Project Publish Continues

Picture
I am still publishing the back list! All of the completed stories that I have in the Eyrie Iolair saga are now available. I can't say that there will never be any other stories in that saga. I might have a few more. For now, it is where it was going. I hope you enjoy my stories in that part of the dream.
I am still publishing backlist in Draoithe and am also still writing stories. I do know what happens at the end, but I just haven't quite gotten there. I promise the end is coming for a few characters. It is getting good.

Social Media

I apologize if I have missed connecting with anyone on social media. I have been trying to keep up, but I need to publish all these titles. Also, the storyboard preview for War Dogs is coming out shortly. If you have not subscribed to the Ophelia Kee channel, please consider doing so in order to see the latest readings and videos. I love to hear from you. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please reach out.

Picture
I am still publishing the stories as short reads. The next step is to get the back list published and try again to record the audio for some of the stories. I also must update my website to include all the new titles. If you have never visited the site, head over and pick up your FREE copy of The Thread. I have to run, but I still feel compelled to remind you to please be kind and leave your reviews when you read. Indie authors may live and die by them in some respects. To all of you who do leave your reviews, THANK YOU!

Deann M Spangler, First off, Welcome to the dream. I wanted to address your question. As a former school teacher, I am very pleased that you took the time to ask. Others might also need to know. My books are listed in the order in which they should be read on my webpage. https://www.opheliakee.com/
Where to begin with my blogs is a bit more daunting. I use this blog to chronicle my author walk. (It has sometimes seemed like an always uphill climb. LOL) As this blog functions much the same way a journal or diary operates, you might want to begin at the beginning. I have gotten better at it as time has gone by, but I do not claim to be any kind of expert. There are, however, many things about writing, publishing, and marketing that I have learned and am totally willing to share.
If you have questions about my books, my publishing, or my marketing, please feel free to ask. That might be easier than reading all my blog entries and get you the specific knowledge you require a lot faster. If you would prefer a more private conversation, please email me opheliakee69@gmail.com, and I will be happy to help.

Book Pricing!!!???!!!

Picture
For all my longtime followers and any newcomers who want to know more about the behind the scenes, pricing has always been complicated and daunting. How much is a story worth? A collection of stories? How much of a discount is a good discount? Sadly, I would actually like to make some money as I am not independently wealthy. But it is difficult to put a price on an idea. I may have found a way to measure the price for entertainment properly though. I explained in a previous blog about the reasoning behind switching over to publishing short reads. Pricing may be an added good reason to continue to do it.
I chose to charge only $.99 for all of my one hour short read stories. (Apparently one hour short reads are my thing. That lead to breaking many of my longer books into short read parts for a lot of reasons.) Realizing that I needed to offer the short reads in complete volumes even so meant that I needed to make the price for buying all of the books at once a good deal. If you are not aware, authors only make a 35% royalty on books priced under $2.99 so for every short read title, I only make 35 cents. Books priced between $2.99 and $9.99 are eligible for a 70% royalty. That means I can charge half the price of the complete volumes and still earn the same amount of royalties. For readers this is a boon. If you want to buy a complete miniseries, just wait and when all the parts have been published, I will publish a complete volume for only half the price. If you are not sure if you like a title, buy only the first part to taste test. Everybody wins and I have a wider opportunity for readers to find my work as my shelf is continually expanding.

Shameless Self Promotion

Picture

Having explained pricing a bit, I must now tell you that I have uploaded Eyrie Iolair: Prodigal Sons as a complete miniseries. It will list price at $4.75 and still be FREE with Kindle Unlimited! The complete volume includes all nine original one hour short read titles and is the full unabridged story. Dread Allies just finished publishing in parts today, so look for a complete volume on that miniseries to be available soon!

Synner and Sainte the Forbye volume in the Draoithe saga of stories got an upgrade. It has been released as a nine part short read miniseries. The original stories have been improved by grammarly for a smoother read, but all the steam is still there. Each part is available from Amazon for only $.99 each, or you can purchase the full volume at half the cost for only $3.49. As always, read for FREE with Kindle Unlimited! Get a behind the scenes look at what caused the imbalance in magic that Luke and Eli stumble on and must correct. This volume contains the Unlikely Kings Prophecy!

Project Publish Updates!

Picture
In the last two weeks, I have diligently published nearly forty short read titles. That is a lot of computer work. Even so, it has been a lot of fun. I met a dragon who gave me some very good advice, and I have dedicated the War Dogs stories to him. The size of your bookshelf does matter! For those of you who have been following my author walk from the beginning, Thank you. You know how difficult the road to learning how to publish and market my stories has been and hopefully you have laughed at my mistakes with me. For anyone who has stumbled over me recently, welcome to the dream. I sincerely hope you may become lost between the pages of a good book. I can honestly say that I believe that I have stumbled on a winning self publishing and marketing strategy that might work over the long haul. (No, I will never get rich. Consistent gas money does have an appeal to me though.) I can't recommend it over anything else I have done, but I do seem to have gotten to a point where some people do find my stories and at least try them on Kindle or buy a short read on occasion just to check me out. I also never claim to be perfect. I am 100% Indie all the way. A one man army who fights only for the dream if you will. LOL I still have a whole lot to learn, but I have decided to put my back list of stories out there to aid my efforts to reach a wider audience. So far it has been working.

Picture
Thanks to everyone who has supported me either by turning a few pages on Kindle or purchasing a title from Amazon. I am going to take a break from publishing for a day or two and focus on the marketing a tad bit. I have some video that I need to get uploaded to YouTube and Pinterest for War Dogs. It will be fully released by tomorrow!
Also, I guess I somehow wound up in Twitter jail because I follow people and do not unfollow people on there. It is confusing to me, and the explanation for why is a huge secret that only Twitter knows apparently. So if you have been trying to connect with me there, it might be a minute. I am available on Instagram and Facebook still and if you have not considered joining the dream group, I have been posting files and excerpts there quite a bit recently.

I am pretty sure you are tired of hearing me whine about reviews, but I must beg as an Independent author. So I will kneel in the dust and grovel at the feet of those who deign to read my stories and beg very nicely. Pretty please with sugar on top, if you read, be ever so kind as to leave a review. Authors need that help in order to continue to write quality stories. Thank you.
Duty calls.

Happy reading,

Dragonesque

Dragonesque is the newest addition to the Eyrie Iolair saga of stories.
Dustin Luisne is the Lord of Dragons for Eyrie Iolair. When his newfound king makes provision for him to claim his mate, he has no idea she will appear before him after a raid on one of Peter Elliot’s operations.
When she almost dies, he loses his mind and threatens anyone he sees as a threat in order to try to save her. As the Eyrie is reopened and the Lord of the Skies calls his men to serve him in the towers atop the mountain, Dustin must juggle his responsibility to his king and his desperate need to avenge his life mate.
Winning a woman who holds ghost magic will require patience and serious proof that he will always be her champion, but if he can pull it off, he will win the chance to be the most powerful dragon in the sky. Does he have what it takes to be Dragonesque?
This title like all of my short read stories is only $.99 from Amazon. It is always FREE with Kindle Unlimited! I hope you enjoy this title as much as you have enjoyed the other titles in the Eyrie Iolair saga. Sky Dreams the miniseries will begin publishing shortly!

Project Publish

Picture
Project Publish is still rolling out titles. I published 6 short reads yesterday and I am on track to do the same today! If I manage it, three miniseries will be done! Cross your fingers.
War Dogs is almost ready! I can't wait. It is the 14th volume! I wanted to have it published already, but life happens. Still I am publishing like mad trying to get as many titles available as possible!
I would like to have the videos up on YouTube and Pinterest by midweek. There are ten titles in this short read miniseries. Leo is an asshole in a suit and Sruthan is the cool dragon that really runs the show. Their world is flipped upside down when Leo finds his mate and she is abducted. Sruthan helps him track her down only to find his Valkyrie. A trip to Draoithe is definitely in order when the two of them meet Blue and Torch scouting the same location. Look for this title coming soon!

Project Publish is awesome! The short read trilogy Risky Rewards is live on Amazon in its entirety. All three parts are now available in oe complete volume for under $2.00. Or as with all titles, this one is FREE with Kindle Unlimited! Risk seeks his mate as Monty steps into his own as the Lord of the Skies, but the reward he seeks for having searched for the overlord of Eyrie Iolair for centuries comes with strings attached.

Project Publish!

As many of you know, I have been seriously publishing my docs files back list as short reads for about a month now. To all of you who have been supporting my endeavor, thank you! I apologize that it has left me little time to blog, but much has been happening on the publishing side. Also I write and that must always take precedence over all other things. I am almost finished with a new Eyrie Iolair short read stand alone story and hope to publish it  soon along with the Sky Dreams miniseries in the Eyrie Iolair saga.  I am also currently publishing The Council, Synner and Sainte, and War Dogs in the Draoithe Saga as their miniseries. I should be finished with them all in a few more days and I will begin publishing more as soon as those are all done. I know it is a lot at once, but I wrote for years before I learned how publishing even worked. There is still a lot to learn. If you are just now stumbling upon the dream, welcome. I want to invite everyone to join the dream group on Facebook, or stop by any of my social media sites, say hello, ask me a question or make a suggestion. I love to hear from you! I am in Florida on vacation, but writing has overtaken my soul, so if you find me here, I am likely sitting on the beach with my laptop. If you read be kind and leave your review. Thanks for checking in and I promise I will get back to blogging more regularly soon.
